Even More Rare Wines by the Ounce!

Posted on

On Thursdays through June, Morrell Wine Bar & Café will be offering small pours of great and rare wines. Wine lovers will have a unique chance to taste benchmark wines at the peak of maturity and at a great price.   “We open one bottle around 4PM and pour it until it’s finished,” said Morrell Wine Bar Sommelier, Anna-Christina Dais. “It gives our guests a chance to experience great bottles when they are at their peak.”

Coming up — Thursday, June 13 at Morrell Wine Bar & Café — (1 Rockefeller Plaza (49th St between 5th/6th) —
Chateau Pavie Decesse 2007

“It boasts great intensity, a dense purple color, and beautiful aromas of sweet mulberries, black cherries, cedar, crushed rocks, and white chocolate as well as a chalky character (which gives the wine superb minerality). The wine is expansively flavored, and the tannins are remarkably sweet and well-integrated. An atypical blockbuster for the 2007 vintage, it should drink beautifully for 15-20 years.” 93 Points – Robert Parker

Pours: 1 oz: $11 | 2.5 oz: $22 | 5 oz: $22
