The 2019 Chablis 1er Cru Fourchaume La Pièce Au Comte is brilliant mingling notes of crisp green orchard fruit and Meyer lemon with hints of pastry cream dried white flowers and oyster shell. Medium to full-bodied deep and layered it's immensely concentrated and multidimensional with racy acids and an abundance of chalky structuring extract.

A deft but not invisible application of wood can be found on the more restrained if otherwise similar nose. As is usually the case there is more volume and power to the medium weight plus flavors that coat the palate with dry extract while delivering very fine depth and persistence on the balanced and quite firm finish where the wood evidenced by the nose resurfaces. This too is really quite lovely and worth checking out. (Drink starting 2027)
